TV Watch #2

Do you have a plan that gets History International? If so, tune in tomorrow at 11 AM Eastern or 5 PM Eastern for Ancient Almanac. It’s going to focus on the Oracle at Delphi.

I always liked reading the Greek myths and the Oracle is one of the more interesting ones to me. The Oracle also plays a big part in one of my favorite plays of the era, Oedipus Rex.

For anyone who doesn’t know much about it, here’s a wiki entry. In the play I mentioned, both Oedipus and his father consult the Oracle, years apart and receive similar prophecies. Well, that’s it for now. Take care and feel free to write back and let me know what you think of the show if you watch.

TV Watch….

Since Halloween is coming up at the end of the month, there are all kinds of specials that are going to be on TV focusing on the supernatural, paranormal, etc. I thought I’d point out some for you.

The first one I’m gonna mention is History’s Mysteries. It’s a show on History International that covers all kinds of topics, both paranormal and not. They just aired one today called “Witchcraft” that talks a little bit about wicca/witches, but mainly goes into the witch trials that happened in Eurpoe and Salem. It’s a pretty good episode, so check your listings for it! If you do watch it (or already have), I’d love to read your comments about it. Til next time… take care!

Tarot

So who here is into Tarot? If you’re interested in the subject, I found a forum that explains different spreads you can do with the cards. They seem pretty easy to do. If you’re interested, check it out and let me know how the spreads work out for you.

Intuition…

I wanted to share this page that gives several exercises designed to enhance intuition. (This is not an endorsement, by the way, of the paid readings. They could be great, but I can’t actually endorse or recommend them as I never had one with her. Still- the exercises look good and she does offer free articles to read and information on psychic fairs, etc.)

So, why am I sharing this? Because I think it’s so important for everyone to work on developing/listening to their intuition. Whether you believe in psychic powers or not, I think everyone can agree that the occasional “hunch” is very much real and sometimes life-saving. Not only that, excercises like this are, for me, very relaxing.

So, have you tried these or any other exercises like this? If so, feel free to share your experiences. I’d love to read about them.

Horoscopes…

gemini

It’s interesting how accurate some of these can be and how completely off others are. Usually when I read one in a magazine, they’re totally off. This site, however seems to be a little more accurate and actually uses your own birth information instead of just your astrological sign.

So how many of you out there read your own horoscopes? Do you read them often or just sometimes? What source have you found to be the most accurate for you? Comment away…

Sun Meditation

sunset2

I wanted to share a meditation that an old buddy of mine told a group of us about in a chat once. If you like, you can change some of the wording to better fit your own personal beliefs:

Go outside and sit in a comfy chair with palms up. (You do need a bright sun for this meditation). Close your eyes and tilt your face up to the sun, right into it. Feel the warming rays of the sun going into your face, and traveling throughout your body like tiny miniature suns, traveling through and penetrating every cell in your body. Feel the tingly energy within each of these tiny suns, energizing every cell in your body, and rejuvenating you. Feel the love and warmth traveling throughout your body as each ray is kissed by the Divine Mother. When you are finished thank the Divine Mother for the healing, rejuvenating rays of the sun.

Quiz

I love mythology and ancient Gods/Goddesses, so I thought I would take this quiz I found. Here are my results….

Which Egyptian God or Goddess do you represent? (Pictures!)

Ma’at, Goddess of Order, Harmony, and Truth
Ma’at was the goddess of physical and moral law in Egypt, of order and truth. She was not much of a goddess, but more of a concept. She was what was right; she was the way things should be.

You lead a very well-ordered life. You are just and keep things in balance. You know just how to react to things, and people like you for that.

Here is what it has to say about her and me: Ma’at was the goddess of physical and moral law in Egypt, of order and truth. She was not much of a goddess, but more of a concept. She was what was right; she was the way things should be. You lead a very well-ordered life. You are just and keep things in balance. You know just how to react to things, and people like you for that.

So who are you? If you take the quiz, be sure to post your results in the comments. I’d love to see them.

Apologies and Dreams…

If you read my other blogs, you know that I was out of town and unable to post. Well, I’m back and wanna share something for those of you who keep dream journals.

I know it’s impossible to write your dreams down every day. There have been so many times I’ve been woken suddenly and didn’t have a chance to sit and get the dreams written down before I started forgetting them. Well, here is something for you guys to write about on those days, or to get yourself back into the habit of writing. They were shared on one of my groups before:

*What you Admire, What you Disdain
*List favorite actors/actresses and why you like them
*List least favorites and explain why.
*List public figures, alive or not, who you admire. Why?
*List those you disdain. Why don’t you like them?
*List men and women through history who inspire you. Why?
*List those who disgust you. Why?
*List things you envy/detest about family and friends and why
*List things you’d be embarrassed for other people to know. Why?
